THE WARRIOR’S SHOUT

The Warrior’s Shout (O Grito da Guerreira) is a short film shot on Super 8mm directed by Lívia Sá with voice over written and narrated by Josanna Vaz. 

On March 14th, 2018, Marielle Franco, a Brazilian black councilwoman, sociologist, feminist, lesbian and human rights activist, originally from Complexo da Maré, in Rio de Janeiro, was brutally murdered. Three years later, we still demand the answer to the question “Who ordered the killing of Marielle Franco?” 

This short film, in honor of Marielle, is an attempt to echo her power and spirit.
